Week Fifty Two

Kaneko in 2009

Posted in Art news, general interest by sarahbakerhansen on 11 January 2009

The Kaneko announced its first event of 2009 last week. Sir Ken Robinson, author of The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything opens Kaneko’s 2009 “Great Minds” lecture series.

Robinson has worked with European and Asian government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and cultural organizations to do something simple: try to bring the best out of people. His speaking engagements come with profoundly serious messages spliced with humor, passion and wit. In 2005, Time/Fortune/CNN named him a “Principal Voice” and in 2003, Queen Elizabeth II knighted him for services to the arts.

Signed copies of his books The Element and Out of Our Minds: Learning how to be Creative will be available before and after the lecture, and the Kaneko/UNO Library will have materials about Robinson available for review beginning Feb. 19.

Tickets for the Feb. 26 lecture go on sale Jan. 12 and are $25 for adults and $15 for students. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. at Kaneko, 1111 Jones St. For reservations, email info@thekaneko.org. For more information on the speaker, visit www.sirkenrobinson.com.
