Week Fifty Two

BRK Weekend

Unless you live in a hole, you probably know that next weekend is the annual Berkshire Hathaway weekend in Omaha. Investors from around the world convene on Omaha, and most of the events, sadly, are only open to shareholders with the coveted all-access pass.

One event, though, is open to the public, and it also supports the work of the Kent Bellows Foundation. “An Evening of Concert and Conversation with Peter Buffett” will take place Saturday, May 2nd at the Rose Theater at 7:30.

Buffett will talk about his upbringing (as the son of Warren Buffett,) the lessons he’s learned and how it affected who he is now. He’ll perform some live music from his most recent albums, show some videos from his recent film and television work and talk about his philanthropic work.

An Omaha native, Buffett is a Grammy award-winning musician and worked for MTV in the 1980s. He works as a composer of jingles, movie soundtracks and atmospheric sounds and worked on the 1990s film “Dances with Wolves.”

Tickets for the event are $42, and $25 of that cost is tax deductible. For more information, visit Peter Buffett’s Web site.
